Reports say the K-pop couple has ended its relationship and returned to being industry colleagues, although representatives for both artists declined to confirm the breakup.

TWICE member Chaeyoung and singer-producer Zion.T have reportedly ended their relationship after approximately two years of public dating.

JTBC Entertainment News reported on August 14 that the two musicians recently decided to end their romantic relationship and return to being senior and junior colleagues in the Korean music industry.

According to an unnamed music industry source cited in the report, their increasingly busy schedules caused the couple to grow apart, eventually leading to a natural breakup.

However, neither Chaeyoung nor Zion.T has personally confirmed the report. Representatives associated with both artists told Korean media that it was difficult to verify because the matter concerned the artists’ private lives.

As a result, the breakup should currently be treated as a media report rather than a formally confirmed announcement.

Chaeyoung and Zion.T publicly confirmed that they were dating in April 2024 after reports about their relationship began circulating in Korean media.

At the time, representatives for both artists said they were meeting with positive feelings and supporting each other. JYP Entertainment officially confirmed that Chaeyoung and Zion.T were in a romantic relationship, according to Korea JoongAng Daily.

Their relationship attracted attention partly because of their 10-year age difference, but also because both artists are known for having distinctive musical identities.

Chaeyoung debuted as a member of TWICE in 2015 and became known for her rap performances, songwriting and unconventional artistic style. Zion.T, who debuted in 2011, established himself as one of South Korea’s most recognizable R&B and hip-hop musicians through songs including “Yanghwa BRDG,” “No Make Up” and “Eat.”

Despite confirming their relationship, the two largely kept their private lives away from the public. They did not regularly appear together or discuss their relationship in interviews.

On August 13, the TWICE member revealed that she would leave JYP Entertainment after spending 14 years with the company, including her trainee period.

Chaeyoung said she was preparing to begin a new chapter and continue developing music within her own “LIL FANTASY” world. She also thanked JYP Entertainment’s staff, the TWICE team and her fellow members for supporting her.

Her departure from JYP does not mean she is leaving TWICE. Chaeyoung emphasized that she plans to continue participating in the group’s activities while pursuing her solo career independently. The Korea Times also reported that her TWICE activities will continue.

The announcement suggests that Chaeyoung is entering a more independent stage of her career, particularly following the release of her first solo album, “LIL FANTASY vol.1,” in September 2025.

However, no official connection has been established between her career decision and the reported end of her relationship with Zion.T.

Zion.T continues activities as an artist and producer

Zion.T has remained active as both a recording artist and producer.

The singer made his debut with “Click Me” in 2011 and later gained mainstream recognition through his distinctive voice and emotionally detailed songwriting. His best-known releases include “Yanghwa BRDG,” “Eat,” “No Make Up” and “The Song.”

In 2022, Zion.T established the creative company Standard Friends, expanding his work beyond his own music into artist management and production.

His representatives have not released a separate statement discussing the breakup report beyond saying that private matters are difficult to confirm.
