The main track of the new album is called “Do You Love Me.” The song beautifully describes the complicated and confusing feelings of two people who are unsure of each other’s love, resulting in an emotional game of push-and-pull. Musically, the track features a heavy and rhythmic drum beat mixed with bright brass and guitar sounds. This instrumental choice perfectly complements the smooth yet powerful vocals of Shownu and Hyungwon, creating a mature and sophisticated atmosphere.
During their three-year break from unit promotions, both artists focused on their mandatory military duties and joined the full MONSTA X group to release a complete album before their youngest member, I.M, enlisted. Hyungwon openly shared how his time in the military gave him a new perspective on life, stating, “Living under strict rules made me truly realize how precious freedom is, and I learned to feel grateful for the small things in my daily life.”
Meanwhile, Shownu, who served as a public service worker, jokingly shared his new empathy for regular working professionals, adding, “Working fixed hours every day helped me understand the mindset of office workers. I quickly realized how incredibly difficult it is to manage your fitness and diet when you just want to enjoy chicken and beer after a long day of work.”

Interestingly, both members revealed that they originally wanted a different song to be the main single. Hyungwon wrote, composed, and arranged four songs on the album, including a refreshing track called “Superstitious.” “I originally wanted Superstitious to be the title track because I wanted to show that our unit can excel at bright, easy-listening music,” Hyungwon admitted with a smile. However, both members ultimately agreed with their agency’s advice to focus on a high-energy dance track. Shownu explained, “Our biggest strength as a duo is our powerful stage performance. While Superstitious is a fantastic song that fans will love, Do You Love Me fits our unit’s performance-heavy direction much better, and we are incredibly satisfied with how the final choreography turned out.”
The album also provides fans with a closer look at their individual styles through two distinct solo tracks. Shownu’s solo song explores the exhausting feelings of being trapped in a toxic relationship, while Hyungwon uses the imagery of water to describe a love so deep and painful that it leaves him feeling breathless. With its diverse genres and honest stories, LOVE ME serves as a beautiful reflection of the duo’s journey over the past three years.
