Eunhyuk Reunites With Super Junior, but His Caption Leaves Fans With One Question

A casual backstage photo from Eunhyuk has offered fans another glimpse of Super Junior together, but his caption also highlighted how difficult full-group schedules have become after more than two decades in K-pop.

On August 23, Eunhyuk posted a photograph of the members gathered in stage outfits and wrote, “SJ after a long time. Could this be our last group schedule of the year?”

Standing closest to the camera, Eunhyuk smiled and made a V sign while the other members posed behind him. The photograph itself was relaxed, but its accompanying question quickly became the more meaningful detail.

Eunhyuk did not announce a hiatus or confirm that Super Junior had completed its 2026 group activities. No official statement about the group’s remaining schedule has been released. His wording appeared casual and uncertain, but it reflected the practical reality of maintaining a long-running idol group whose members now manage numerous individual commitments.

Why full-group schedules have become more meaningful

Super Junior debuted with “Super Junior05” in November 2005 and will mark its 21st anniversary later this year. Its catalogue includes major K-pop hits such as “Sorry, Sorry,” “Bonamana,” “U,” “Mr. Simple” and “Devil.”

The group celebrated its 20th anniversary with the album “Super Junior25” and the “Super Show 10” tour. The tour began in Seoul in August 2025 and continued across Asia and Latin America before concluding with encore concerts in Seoul in April 2026.

That anniversary cycle demonstrated that Super Junior could still organize extensive group promotions after 20 years. Outside those major projects, however, assembling the members has become increasingly complicated.

Eunhyuk, Donghae and Kyuhyun ended their individual contracts with SM Entertainment in 2023 while agreeing to continue participating in Super Junior activities managed by the company. Eunhyuk and Donghae subsequently established ODE Entertainment and continued promoting as Super Junior-D&E, while Kyuhyun pursued his solo career under Antenna.

Other members have also maintained careers across solo music, musicals, acting, television, radio and unit promotions. In August alone, the group’s Japanese schedule included separate activities for Ryeowook and the 83-line pairing of Leeteuk and Heechul, illustrating how Super Junior now operates through multiple overlapping formats.

Super Junior has turned separation into a working model

For many K-pop groups, members joining different agencies can create uncertainty about future promotions. Super Junior has instead developed a structure in which individual careers and group activities can coexist.

That does not make scheduling simple. A full-group appearance now requires coordination between different companies and personal calendars. Eunhyuk’s suggestion that the August gathering might be their final collective commitment of 2026 therefore carried more weight than an ordinary backstage caption.

At the same time, the post should not be treated as confirmation that no additional Super Junior activity will take place this year. His phrase “could this be” indicated that even Eunhyuk was posing the idea as a possibility rather than announcing a finalized plan.

The photograph ultimately captured the unusual stage Super Junior has reached. The members no longer need to promote together continuously to preserve their identity as a group, but every reunion has become more noticeable precisely because their separate careers are now so extensive.

As Super Junior approaches its 21st anniversary, longevity is no longer measured only by how frequently the members appear together. It is also reflected in their ability to keep returning to the same name, stage and fandom despite following increasingly independent paths.
