BTS has notched another YouTube milestone, and this time, it’s a deep cut doing the heavy lifting.
The music video for “2.0,” a B-side track from the septet’s fifth studio album “ARIRANG,” surpassed 200 million views on YouTube around 9:20 p.m. KST on October 22, label Big Hit Music confirmed. The achievement came roughly six months and 20 days after the video premiered on HYBE Labels’ official channel at midnight KST on April 2.
“ARIRANG,” released March 20, 2026, marked BTS’s first full album release since the members began reuniting activities after their individual military service. The record debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and held the top spot for three consecutive weeks before gradually sliding down the chart. As of the week of October 21, it sat at No. 41 in its 30th week on the chart, up two spots from the week prior.
BTS’s “2.0” Music Video Hits 200 Million Views on YouTube / BIGHIT MusicWhat makes “2.0” crossing 200 million notable is that it isn’t the album’s title track. That distinction belongs to “Swim,” which currently ranks No. 26 on the Billboard Global 200 and No. 9 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart. “2.0” becomes the first “ARIRANG” music video to reach the 200-million mark, a sign that album tracks, not just singles, continue to pull serious staying power from the group’s global fanbase, ARMY.
The “2.0” video itself has a story worth revisiting. Directed as an homage to Park Chan-wook’s 2003 film “Oldboy,” it opens with the members in 1970s-style hairstyles, suits, and leather jackets, facing down a group of gangsters in a narrow corridor. Rather than a fight scene, BTS “defeats” the group through choreography, a comedic twist on the film’s famous one-take hallway brawl. Midway through, the members change into modern streetwear inside an elevator, visually marking the group’s transition into what the song calls “BTS 2.0.”
BTS’s “2.0” Music Video Hits 200 Million Views on YouTube / BIGHIT MusicThe song was written by all seven BTS members alongside producers Mike Will Made-It and Pluss, and was recognized with a first-place win on music show “Inkigayo” in April. It’s also up for Best Music Video at the 2026 MAMA Awards.
The milestone lands in the middle of BTS’s ongoing world tour supporting “ARIRANG,” which has already become one of the group’s most commercially successful tours to date, according to label reporting. Big Hit Music has not announced any special content tied to the 200-million mark, but BTS and HYBE Labels have historically marked big round-number milestones with social posts or behind-the-scenes releases, so fans may want to watch the group’s official channels in the coming days.
For now, the number stands on its own: another sign that six months after release, “ARIRANG” is still finding new viewers one deep cut at a time.
