Global K-pop sensation aespa has officially moved back in together, switching from split apartments back into a single shared dorm. On the July 5, 2026, broadcast of JTBC’s hit cooking variety show Please Take Care of My Refrigerator since 2014, aespa members Karina and Winter appeared as special guests to officially reveal the inside of their daily dorm refrigerators.

A Combined Home With Two Fridges

Up until very recently, the four members of aespa had been split up, living in pairs across two separate apartments. However, Winter surprised the hosts by revealing that they have officially reunited their living spaces for their sixth year since debut:

“We used to live in pairs, but we recently combined our dorms back into one big apartment. Because of that, we actually have two separate refrigerators at home now. We literally brought one refrigerator from each of our old apartments straight onto the show today.”

She honestly added that their busy schedules have kept them away from home lately. “I really try my best to cook whenever I can. But because we’ve been busy working day and night, we haven’t even been able to step foot inside our dorm for the past few days. We are still in the middle of restocking our food, so there isn’t much inside just yet,” Winter explained.

Winter Exposes Her “Grandma Palate” and Frugal Habits

When the chefs opened the refrigerators, they discovered a cozy mix of homemade side dishes sent by Winter’s mother, starch rice cakes (bunmoja), and a surprisingly large collection of alcoholic beverages. Winter laughingly admitted that her food preferences lean toward very traditional, old-school flavors: “I absolutely love pickled vegetables, soy-marinated crab, and boiled pumpkin leaves. Because I crave things like fermented soybean paste stew (doenjang-jjigae), cheonggukjang, and cold soybean noodles, my friends always tell me I have a total ‘grandma palate.'”

Winter also earned a brand-new nickname on set: “Frugal Idol.” While explaining her love for ordering hot pot delivery (mara xiang guo), she revealed why she keeps a bulk stash of starch rice cakes in her fridge:

“Whenever I try to add extra rice cake toppings on delivery apps, they charge 5,000 KRW for just two tiny pieces! I realized it is so much cheaper and smarter to just buy a giant pack myself and toss them into the food at home.”

Hearing this, host Kim Sung-joo praised her smart saving habits, while co-host Ahn Jung-hwan jokingly asked, “Is aespa going through financial difficulties or something?” causing the entire studio to burst into laughter.

Karina Shoked by Winter’s Secret Solo Drinking

The most hilarious moment of the night arrived when the chefs began sorting through the dorm’s alcohol shelf, pulling out bottles of wine, traditional rice wine (makgeolli), soju, and champagne. A flustered Winter quickly explained, “I can’t actually drink high amounts of alcohol, but I enjoy having just a tiny bit alongside my meals like a nice food pairing.”

However, the truth came out when the chefs pulled out a half-empty bottle of soju. When Winter casually admitted, “Oh, the missing amount in that bottle is exactly what I drank all by myself in a single day,” her bandmate Karina looked completely frozen in shock. Clearly hearing about Winter’s secret solo drinking habits for the very first time on national television, Karina turned to her with wide eyes and asked, “Wait… are you actually okay?” wrapping up the chaotic episode with a massive wave of laughter.
